Brandofino Joins Yorktel As COO

Yorktel (News - Alert) has named a new chief operations officer. The company this week welcomed Mike Brandofino to the fold.

The 20-year industry veteran previously served as CEO and managing partner of consulting service Department 60, which he founded. Brandofino has also lead Glowpoint (News - Alert) as its CEO. And he’s been an executive committee member and executive vice president at AVI-SPL.

“We are proud to have Mike officially join the team as Chief Operations Officer,” said Ron Gaboury, CEO of Yorktel. “Mike is a proven, well-respected leader who is eminently qualified to oversee operations during this exciting and critical phase of expansion and growth.”

A provider of video cloud and managed services for federal government, health care, and large enterprise customers, Yorktel continues to grow and change to continue to address market needs. For example, in addition to adding Brandofino to its C-suite, Yorktel this year named Ken Scaturro chief revenue officer.

And Yorktel over the years has grown its portfolio and reach via acquisitions.

In 2012 Yorktel acquired First Connections Ltd., a U.K.-based company that support conferencing solutions. And in 2014 the Yorktel bought Expedite VCS and MultiSense Communications.

Expedite provides voice and video solutions on a managed services basis. At the time of the deal, the company’s noted Expedite’s successes in corporate, distance learning, government, telejustice, and telemedicine arenas.

As for MultiSense, that company was a U.K.-based Polycom Partner. It supplied and supported videoconferencing solutions.

At ITEXPO earlier this year Vishal Brown (News - Alert), Yorktel’s senior vice president of consultancy gave a presentation titled “What Microsoft Replacing Skype for Business with Teams Means”. He noted that Microsoft (News - Alert) is working to migrate its Skype for Business customers to Microsoft Teams. And he explained that
