CounterPath (News - Alert) announced it signed a distribution agreement with TaraPath to sell CounterPath’s Bria Stretto subscription services across India. TaraPath is a global unified communications company, while CounterPath provides international over-the-top (OTT) UC solutions for both enterprises and carriers.
The UC and collaboration market in India is projected to experience a CAGR of 12 percent from 2017 through 2023, according to 6Wresearch. Verticals fueling this growth are banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) with education, government, and public utilities following behind.
“India represents an important growth market within the Unified Communications (News - Alert) space, and is a logical market in which to expand our global channel distribution network,” said Bruce Ford, VP Channel Management at CounterPath. “With TaraSpan’s varied portfolio of UC solutions and strong relationships with SMEs & large enterprises in India, we can enable organizations in India to enhance the productivity and reachability of their employees.”
Along with UC and collaboration, the VoIP telephony segment is expanding thanks to the flexibility, portability, and decrease in operating prices it provides. In Bria Stretto, companies find a solution that is both reliable and secure, and interoperable with most IP PBX (News - Alert) platforms.
“This partnership will enable people at work and home to easily communicate at any time, on any device, over any network using their business phone number and also help enterprises to lower their operating costs and provides more freedom and connectivity to their employees,” said Nihar Ranjan Sahoo, MD, TaraSpan.
