There’s no doubt about it: ransomware and various cyber attacks are having a severe impact on the world around us. Whether you’re talking about WannaCry or Petya (or NotPetya), the latest attack from this week, the conclusion remains just as horrible. That’s why it’s so important for businesses to make sure that their systems are secure, which is where companies like Dispel come into play.

Dispel specializes in secure collaborative systems and software-defined perimeters. The company offers a comprehensive suite of simple, secure products for all workers at companies of any size seeking to protect intellectual property and material activity; secure networks against monitoring and intrusion; and prevent downtime from attacks such as DDoS and ransomware. But that’s not all; additionally, Dispel provides collaboration and data products for employees in volatile geopolitical regions.

Obviously staying secure is a priority for companies, but it can be difficult to do so because of unified communications. Although these solutions are great, they often open up unsuspecting companies to cyber attacks. For instance, according to Gartner (News - Alert), “The shift to cloud-based videoconferencing services has been a major theme in the unified communications and collaboration (UCC) space for the past few years, and momentum in that direction continues to build. As large global enterprises, government agencies and financial services market segments consider following this trend, they often ask whether it puts them at greater security risk.”

Video conferencing, along with other UC solutions, can be a blessing and a curse to companies for this reason. However, Dispel offers a solution to this problem with its communications platform, which creates highly secure, private enclaves for information exchanges. According to a recent announcement, “Dispel creates interoperable voice, video, messaging, file sharing, and design applications inside Reconnaissance Resistant Networks; mitigating the threat of corporate espionage and cyberattacks—keeping company information secret and secured.”

Dispel’s ability to help organizations stay safe from cyber attacks, while also allowing them to continue to use unified communications tools, is the main reason it was named as a 2017 Gartner Cool Vendor in Unified Communications (News - Alert).

According to Gartner, naming Dispel for the award was a simple choice. A representative stated, “The unified communications (UC) landscape has evolved during the past few years, due to global market trends such as increased automation through artificial intelligence (AI), web-service-based consumption, heightened awareness of security vulnerabilities, and the massive expansion of connected devices. These trends have converged to create an opportunity for companies to enable their employees and customers to securely engage and collaborate in new ways — from anywhere, at any time, using any device, in any application.”
