Jive Updates its Cloud-Based UC Platform
Unlike legacy on premises telephone systems, cloud-based unified communications (UC) solutions can address high-growth organizations with the flexibility and scalability they need by being able to add and remove services or capacity with speed and efficiency. Jive Communications' enterprise-grade cloud architecture is purpose built for this very reason, with efficiency and enablement that also integrates data analysis to provide context to business conversations with the goal of improving the way an organization's workforce collaborates to increase productivity. The company announced it has added three new features to improve its cloud-based UC platform with Netview, Jive Business Continuity (JBC) and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP).
According to Jive Communications, these new updates will deliver improved performance, reliability and ease-of-use for its enterprise users and channel partners by providing tools that are essential to deploy, monitor, maintain and operate cloud-based UC solutions.
“Jive is ensuring our success by offering these innovative tools. With its game-changing network performance, combined with simple installations and incredibly sophisticated failback options, Jive is making our lives – and the lives of our partners and customers – easier,” said Nancy Ridge, executive vice president, Telecom Brokers, a Jive Communications partner.
Jive Netview is a network-testing and troubleshooting tool, which is the first of its kind for the company. This is going to give Jive's partners a solution for running network compatibility checks and receiving results on the spot so network problems can be addressed right away. According to Jive, this will ensure fast and efficient installations, while at the same time improving performance.
Outages will eventually take place no matter how many redundancies have been put in place. The Jive Business Continuity (JBC) addition is a failover capability that preserves users’ most essential phone functions during an Internet disruption or a complete outage. The technology is a server-based application that allows businesses to reach staff and emergency services even without an Internet connection.
One of the challenges cloud service providers face is the complexity of the migration process to the cloud. Jive says the new Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) provides a completely hands-off approach for easy installations to simplify the onboarding processes for new customer installs. The provisioning process, according to Jive, can be made at scale for enterprises and IT administrators.
The addition of Netview, Jive Business Continuity and Zero Touch Provisioning is going to give channel partners the ability to anticipate problems, create solutions and ensure the continuity of cloud-based UC services for their customers.
