Unified Communications Week in Review: AudioCodes, Fusion, Logicalis US & More

Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in Unified Communications this week.

The week started off with the news that AudioCodes has launched a new solution that’s meant to modernize the enterprise voice network. The Universal Communications Architecture (UCA) system is supposed to help businesses “concentrate any off-net traffic over the corporate wide-area network (WAN), which means that all that communication coming in over session initiation protocol (SIP) trunks or even just from direct internal operations is able to be more effectively routed,” according to TMC’s Steve Anderson. Next up, Fusion proved once again that it is a force to be reckoned with when it announced that an international technology staffing and services companies has signed a three-year cloud solutions contract to aid in the provisioning of digital transformation. Logicalis US also made the news this week by announcing that it has started working with IR. IR is bringing an additional toolset to Logicalis US’ system –IR Prognosis –which will give the company more visibility into its customers’ UC environments. Prognosis is meant to enable the best user experience possible for collaboration, meetings and voice/video calls, whether in the cloud, on-premises, for hybrid environments or through a managed service. Finally, the week rounded out with the news that Amazon’s Alexa has received a boost from SkySwitch. SkySwitch is bringing new capability to both the Alexa and Echo devices by adding voice-enabled dialing to the system with the SkySwitch Web Centrex PBX Skill.
