There’s no question enterprise communications are evolving. From the days of simply picking up the desk phone and dialing a number, to email and chat, and today CPaaS and video gaining momentum. Collaboration demands visual communications at times, and this week ShoreTel (News - Alert) announced a partnership with StarLeaf to deliver one click videoconferencing for multiple users with ShoreTel Connect CLOUD.
“ShoreTel is focused on creating a holistic and intuitive user experience across the complete UC stack,” explained Eugenia Corrales, Senior Vice President of Product at ShoreTel. “With our rollout of video collaboration for ShoreTel Connect CLOUD, we are delivering seamless visual communications and business collaboration. We are excited to offer our customers robust cloud videoconferencing functionality through StarLeaf's industry-leading OpenCloud (News - Alert) platform.”
The ShoreTel CLOUD already offers a robust set of functionality, but now the addition of the ability for multiple users to instantly join a HD video or audio conference is a big step forward. Users can invite attendees via email, with a link to join the conference included; both those leveraging ShoreTel Connect ONSITE or external participants can then access the conference. The platform can support up to 24 participants.
“StarLeaf and ShoreTel each provide unique value propositions for customers that want to move to the cloud for all their communications needs,” said Mark Loney, CEO of StarLeaf. “With thousands of people relying on ShoreTel's cloud communications solutions every day, our relationship will support those customers who want to fast-track the adoption of video throughout their business, while benefiting from a seamless environment that delivers ease of use, centralized management and low cost of ownership.”
At every step of the journey, the duo will provide support to customers. So as enhancements ensue, it’s safe to say we’ll see tighter integration between the two firms in regard to videoconferencing, and ShoreTel will stand guard with StarLeaf to help you along the way.
The cloud is a key cog in the digital transformation taking place, and when it comes to communications CPaaS is front and center.
