There are plenty of reasons that companies decide to invest in cloud solutions. Some are looking to cut costs, some want better connectivity, and others simply want all the benefits it has to offer. Fusion, a provider of cloud services, announced today that it was just chosen by a private university located on the East Coast that wants it all.
Fusion’s single source integrated cloud solution was chosen because the university believes it is the best solution to help it grow. The university reviewed several premise-based as well as cloud-based options while searching for the right solution to meet its needs, and eventually chose Fusion because of its cost-effective cloud voice, contact center, connectivity and business continuity solutions.
The university has signed on for a three-year, $325,000 contract. It’s not a huge surprise that Fusion was chosen by a university, given that the company has targeted cloud solutions for the education vertical market.
Aside from Fusion’s involvement in the education vertical market, it was also chosen due to several features that the university found appealing. The university cited the elimination of up-front capital costs and end of life technology concerns as one of the reasons it preferred Fusion. Additionally, it recognized the cost efficiencies of a reduction in space, IT support staff and ongoing maintenance costs made possible by the cloud, combined with an advanced feature set with business continuity built in. These benefits quickly decided the university’s question of whether it should go for a cloud-based or premise-based solution. Fusion's single source solution also improves quality of service and gets rid of finger pointing in many instances because everything is well-organized and easily accessible.
Russell P. Markman, Fusion's President of Business Services, is honored to have been chosen by the university, and looks forward to providing great service. “We appreciate the opportunity to support the university with our award-winning communications solution, including collaboration and contact center functionality, as well as connectivity over our robust, diverse national network, with automatic failover ensuring continuity of service.”
He continued, “The university is committed to continuous innovation and leveraging emerging technologies in support of its mission to prepare generations of students for a future as change agents. That is why as a technology company, we are especially pleased to have earned this respected institution's business.”
