Birch Releases Hub App for Cloud PBX

Birch Communications offers its cloud-based private branch exchange, TotalCloud PBX (News - Alert), so enterprises can fulfill their needs for local and long-distance calling within the U.S. Its tiers of service allow for clients to complete calls, front-end incoming calls with an automated attendant, and collaborate on tasks through instant messaging and remote desktop features within the office.

Now TotalCloud comes with a new Hub mobile app that allows individual employees to make calls outside the office as if they were sitting at their own desks. Like its parent tools, the Hub connects to a central online portal where users can meet through basic phone calls, complete conference calls with audio and video, transmit files, or display live presentations through screen sharing.

Tony Tomae, the president and CEO of Birch, commented in his company’s official announcement that the release of this app means to continue Birch’s support of teams no matter their locations.

“This rollout of the TotalCloud PBX Hub app and the product structure are part of our continued service offerings for our customers,” Tomae said. “This continues to be a very exciting time for Birch. We want our customers to see us as a partner in their business, and to achieve this we will continue to provide a terrific enablement program, support teams, and product mix.”

Birch has been active this year with including partners in its sales. Coverage from TMC (News - Alert) this past July noted that Birch had expanded its Channel Partner Program to include product training and additional sales support to help partners drive their own local operations. Of course, this is good for both Birch and its affiliates because, with improved training materials, sales of products such as TotalCloud can reach more users and stretch the reach of the brand.

Birch has split its TotalCloud offering into three tiers – Merchant, Professional, and Executive – with each tier building on the capability of the former. Smaller companies may, for instance, only need the Merchant edition so they can complete unlimited calls from the office. Larger enterprises, on the other hand, may seek the Executive tier for its provision of conferencing, presence, and above all, access to the Hub app, which connects to those advanced features.

All three tiers are available now for purchase from Birch and its channel partners who, as stated above, should have the proper training to deal with setup and maintenance of any product the customer chooses.
