Mitel Focuses on Mobile Team Collaboration with MiTeam
Fresh off the announcement that it is acquiring Polycom to form a new UC industry giant, Mitel this week announced the general availability of a new offering, Mitel MiTeam. A mobile-first team and social collaboration application, Mitel MiTeam features real-time, native integration that supports the way teams actually work today.
In other words, MiTeam is a collaboration offering specifically designed to meet the needs of the modern, geographically diverse workforce. The application features an intuitive workstream communications and collaboration tool that provides a highly collaborative, persistent workspace for team-based meetings, conversations, content collaboration and project management.
The purpose is to provide groups with the ability to connect and collaborate via real-time voice and video meetings, while making it easy to initiate instant messaging conversations, manage to-do lists, share screens, and create customized work streams for sharing, editing and annotating documents—all within one application. In addition, MiTeam can expand collaboration beyond a business’ internal siloes, allowing for participation from customers and partners.
“Project teams more often than not are made up of people working from multiple locations and geographies, even across businesses and frequently include external partners and constituents,” said Jon Brinton, EVP and president of the Mitel Cloud Division. “Until recently, they’ve had to rely on communicating through multiple channels and disparate applications including conference calls, voicemail, email and text, among others. With MiTeam, they can combine and streamline communications for a more simplified, seamless experience and increase productivity with real-time access to team members in a contextual conversation.”
With simple, tap-to-connect collaboration features, MiTeam is able to seamlessly integrate into more than 50 leading SaaS applications. Meanwhile, a mobile-first design makes MiTeam very natural to use on tablets and smartphones, enabling collaboration across multiple mobile platforms—namely Android, iOS and Windows—so colleagues can connect and collaborate easily anytime, anywhere.
MiTeam is available immediately as part of the MiCloud Office Premier and Elite licensing options. It’s also available to order as an embedded feature within Mitel MiCollab for premises-based solutions, with general availability scheduled for the end of this quarter.
