SkySwitch Taps Obihai to Bring UCCaaS to SMBs

March 31, 2016

The reach of unified communications is growing by the day because a good unified communications offering offers businesses tangible, measurable benefits. Likewise, the cloud continues to see rising adoption for similar reasons. As such, it’s natural to think that the unified communications and collaboration as a service (UCCaaS) sector is permeating businesses of all sides with the benefits of UC and the cloud in one.

However, while larger enterprises are adopting UCCaaS at a steady rate, many small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) can’t follow suit because they are reluctant or unable to replace adding PBX systems. Fortunately, communications platform provider SkySwitch is enabling its resellers to deliver service to SMBs with the help of cost effective and easily supportable analog access devices and IP phones from Obihai.

SkySwitch recently held its first event for resellers in Orlando, Florida. Called Vectors, this Polycom-sponsored event was designed to help SkySwitch resellers network and learn the ropes in terms of products the company has on offer.

“Using Obihai devices in conjunction with the SkySwitch Web Centrex platform, our Resellers can sell enhanced SIP Trunking services that work consistently, regardless of whether a user is behind a PBX or key system, or accessing the company communications network from the cloud,” said Eric Hernaez, managing director of SkySwitch. “All users can now have seamless access to features that include extension dialing, find-me-follow-me, and offline failover.”

Obihai has a long history providing equipment to resellers and service providers. In this case, the Obi504vs, Obi508vs, and the Obi3 series are being used to deliver gateway functions required by SkySwitch in a variety of configurations, allowing the right solution to be deployed for each implementation. Despite being cost effective, these solutions deliver top-quality security and receive ongoing, responsive support from Obihai.

In addition, the OBiTALK Device Management Platform is being leveraged for provisioning and cloud management alongside the SkySwitch Device Provisioning Server, enabling control of the devices’ enhanced features.
