SAP Digital Makes Online Purchasing Simpler

We live in an age when technology continues to change on almost a daily basis. We also live in a very fast paced environment where once a decision is made it needs to be acted upon quickly. The problem is that the more things develop the more complicated and complex they become. This in turn, can cause problems of being able to go from purchase to production on a timely basis.


SAP (News - Alert) makes enterprise software designed to manage business operations and customer relations. It has also made a commitment to help its customers find their way around the complexity of digital transformation. This refers to the changes associated with the application of digital technology in all aspects of human society.

Earlier this week, SAP announced new digitally native offerings. One of the aspects that make this announcement unique is the fact that it is built for immediate personal utilization through a new online purchase experience.

The normal procedure is generally a lengthy process of filling out purchase orders and creating invoices, which can be time consuming. The process can now be as simple as filling out a one click online form and giving your credit card information.

In addition, another time saving option is the fact that Individuals can configure their new applications in a few hours. This can be accomplished without relying on the IT department or outside consultants. The bottom line is that by accepting digital transformations, businesses of any size can realize as much as a 30 percent increase in revenue.

Bill McDermott, who is the CEO and a member of the executive board of SAP SE, said "For 43 years SAP has helped organizations around the world become best-run. Now our digital business will bring the power of SAP technology to individuals, using the same simple approaches they know in their personal lives. This is a key accelerator for SAP's growth aspirations as the SAP Digital organization will create new revenue through new offerings that appeal to a new, individual buyer."

SAP hybris Commerce Suite is optimized to deliver an omni-channel commerce experience, allowing great scalability to support the needs of SAP Digital. This is also the key component that allows SAP Store to offer the convenient and easy way to complete a purchase.

SAP Lumira grew out of SAP Business Explorer, the company's self-service data visualization tool. nalysts using SAP Lumira can alter data structures and correlations in whatever way they want, without the help of their IT department, then push the data back into the system so it can then be consumed by more casual users. To date, there have been more than 500,000 downloads of the free version, with many additional options available from the paid version.

In addition to SAP Lumira, the following are some of the other digitally native offerings recently launched:

  • SAP Digital for Customer Engagement; a simplified cloud customer relationship management (CRM) solution designed to meet the needs of individuals and small teams, but with enterprise-grade capabilities for both sales and customer service.
  • SuccessFactors Perform & Reward; a talent management bundle, from goal alignment and execution to 360-degree reviews and performance management and compensation, which is ideal for smaller divisions and businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
  • The SAP Learning Hub program, currently available on SAP Store, provides unlimited online access to a vast selection of high-quality SAP Education offerings, complemented by interactive learning rooms.
