Polycom (News - Alert), a provider of standards-based unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) solutions, announced its Polycom VVX Business Media Phone (News - Alert) portfolio is now interoperable with BroadSoft UC services.
BroadSoft UC will be available on Polycom VVX 500 and 600 in the first quarter of this year. Polycom recently also expanded support for BroadSoft's (News - Alert) UC services for the Polycom VVX 300 and 400 models.
Interoperability of Polycom VVX with BroadSoft UC benefits customers as it delivers advanced feature set for small and medium-sized customers, including high definition (HD) voice and video capabilities.
Service providers can expand their hosted and managed service portfolio and create services and offerings that allow organizations of any size to capitalize on life-like video and voice communications to make faster and better decisions, increase productivity, and reduce costs.
The UC services offer enhanced levels of directory and presence integration with the BroadSoft-based services they offer, the company said.
By integrating BroadSoft Enterprise Directory, uses can see contact cards containing details such as work, extension, and mobile numbers of contacts. Through access to BroadCloud Presence, users can view presence status with their BroadSoft UC contacts. Users can view their BroadCloud directory favorites in places such as the contact list or from the ‘Home' view.
Polycom VVX Business Media Phones are marked by their superior voice and video capabilities. They offer a multi-touch interface that makes navigation easy and requires no learning curve, which helps users stay connected to their colleagues, partners and customers.
Nextiva, one of the partners who use Polycom products, says BroadSoft's UC-One, together with Polycom's VVX line of IP phones, is the ideal solution for today's businesses.
Yaniv Masjedi, vice president of marketing, Nextiva, says the solution offers “the best in business communication and is an excellent addition to the market with its seamless user experience, the openness of its customer platform and the mobility it allows."
