Roche Pharmaceuticals Deploys Everbridge Communications Solutions

September 10, 2013

Everbridge recently announced that it has entered into a strategic collaboration with Roche Pharmaceuticals. Roche has been utilizing Everbridge as a single point of contact for operational and emergency communications. Prior to deploying Everbridge, Roche used a call tree system, which was not only time consuming but also required the supervisors and staff to put in lots of efforts.

In a statement, Bryan Draper, security operations manager, Roche Pharmaceuticals, said, “Roche Pharmaceuticals uses the Everbridge system for any event that may alter the normal routine of the facility. We have found that one of the most important things in these situations is training and practice. In this way, we ensure that we have put in place the right system and practices to mitigate the risk associated with critical incidents.”

As a pharmaceuticals organization, quite a few lethal, volatile and corrosive materials are stored by Roche in its chemical plants. In the event of a chemical fire, there is a possibility of a chemical release with destructive consequences. Another cause of worry for Roche is the occurrence of snowstorms and ice storms in the winter season. In order to protect lives and property during such calamities, Roche needs to get in touch with its staff in an extremely proficient manner. The system is tested on a weekly basis by the security division at Roche. Roche is therefore able to make sure that the users are able to properly use the system when required and that the system is operating efficiently.

The Everbridge system is utilized by Roche for emergency mass notifications. The Everbridge system is activated in case of any abnormal events occurring at the facility. Everbridge’s severe weather alerts are also leveraged by Roche, especially during the winter season, for snowstorms and ice storms.

Imad Mouline, chief technology officer, Everbridge, said, “The Everbridge system is designed so that it can be used in any type of situation or emergency, over a broad spectrum of events. For a company such as Roche Pharmaceuticals that sees a vast range of emergencies that can span from chemical fires to ice storms, the Everbridge system is perfect for enabling these organizations to reach employees quickly and effectively, protecting their personnel and property.”
