Telecom Thought Leaders Congregate in Las Vegas This Week

August 26, 2013

Apple’s co-founder, Steve Wozniak, may be the big draw at ITEXPO this week, which takes place August 26-29 in Las Vegas. The B2B communications event features many other luminaries and thought leaders, however, many with impressive resumes of their own.

Take Thomas Beck, for instance. The Teo marketing and business development director helped develop the most successful non-profit promotional campaign in U.S. history before working for Teo. Heard of Go Red? Beck helped develop that Go Red for Women campaign for the American Heart Association.

Now Beck works for Teo, formerly known as Tone Commander Systems. Teo is an innovative telecom solutions provider specializing in telephone and network solutions for Fortune 1,000 companies, government agencies, educational institutions and small and large businesses around the world. It develops VoIP telephones, unified communication systems, Enhanced 911 (E911) response systems, TSG-6 secure endpoints and other technologies for the telecom industry.

Recently Teo announced the availability of its r3nd unified communications architecture. The architecture is the first solution available from any vendor that can support single site, multi-site, and cloud deployments using the same software architecture, according to the company.

“Unlike other UC solutions and legacy PBX technologies that required a 'graceful degradation' approach to addressing network and component failures, Teo's r3nd architecture allows for 100 percent of system capabilities to be utilized even when network, power, or component failures occur,” noted Beck.

Beck, whose accomplishments include bringing fiber-to-the-home infrastructure technologies to market that have helped Verizon and Comcast deliver enhanced broadband services, has also helped Teo win the American Business Best New Technology Award for the company’s Emergency Notification E911 management system.

At ITEXPO this year, Beck will speak about the trends and strategies behind the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend. He will be one of the panelists at the “When Trends Collide: Trends, Risks and Benefits of BYOD Strategies” session at The Business Technology Event. The other panelists include Kevin Butler of Vertical Communications and Steven Shalita of NetScout Systems.

The session takes place on August 27 at 10 a.m. (PDT).

ITEXPO is the world’s largest and longest-running B2B communications and technology conference, and this year’s Las Vegas event will be the 28th held since the launch of the conference in 1999. More than 200 exhibitors and a 1,000 industry attendees will be on hand, with nearly 40 percent working for companies that will spend between $500,000 and $5 million on telecom in 2013.

More than just a communications event, ITEXPO is the leading event for communications decision-makers to network and interact with the latest industry technology. Three quarters of attendees are the final decision-makers on purchases, and more than half indicate they make product purchasing decisions at least partially based on what they see at the show.

Thomas Beck and the likes of Steve Wozniak only make ITEXPO even more of a can’t-miss event.
