NextPlane UC Exchange to Deliver Federation Services for Siemens' OpenScape UC Platform

Siemens Enterprise Communications, a provider of unified communications (UC) solutions, and NextPlane, a provider of cloud-based services for unified communications, reportedly collaborated to enable the NextPlane UC Exchange service to deliver extended federation services for Siemens’ OpenScape UC platform.

The OpenScape UC Suite comprises of collaboration, mobility, and video tools to help enterprises improve productivity and reduce expenses, as well as OpenScape Web Collaboration, a conferencing solution that provides rich multimedia collaboration for improved collaboration, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Designed to enhance public and private cloud capabilities for exceptional user experience, it supposedly offers a single UC domain for organizations ranging from 100 to 500,000 users.

While the NextPlane UC Exchange is a UC and social media federation service designed with a searchable directory of over 100 (and growing) ‘federation-ready’ organizations. It can be employed by companies to ensure collaboration with customers, partners and suppliers using a secure management portal.

With UC Exchange, OpenScape customers can ensure their end-users to readily share presence and exchange instant messages with their colleagues’ business partners, supply chain vendors, third-party suppliers and customers – all under the impression of working under the same platform. This feature is greatly beneficial for globally dispersed workforce and business ecosystems that operate in various regions, across multiple time-zones.
