Supplier of hosted voice, video, managed data and security services, BroadConnect Telecom, has decided to introduce unified communications video services to its hosted PBX (News - Alert) customers. To do so, the company will turn to Polycom's plug-and-play desktop voice and video solutions.
Indeed, BroadConnect Telecom's added support for end-to-end, high definition video solutions for its hosted PBX customers uses services engineered around products from Polycom's (News - Alert) VVX portfolio.
Specifically, the Polycom VVX 500 and 600 Business Media Phones are to be leveraged, along with the Polycom VVX Camera, which uses advanced plug-and-play technology to convert the VVX 500 and 600 into budget-friendly, high quality video collaboration solutions.
Installation is simple, as the 720p HD video camera only needs to be plugged into the onboard USB port on the top of each phone. With no need to install software drivers, users can start engaging in HD video conferencing calls right away.
Furthermore, since the service can operate over existing VoIP networks, widespread deployment is also easy and cost effective.
The Polycom VVX 500 and 600 Business Media Phones, meanwhile, are top-grade, business-class devices that features gesture-based, multi-touch capable intelligent touchscreens, as well as an intelligent user interface that should be familiar to the most smartphone users. Other features include a privacy shutter, multiple video modes, adjustable tilt, picture in picture and customizable frame rates.
"BroadConnect consumers commend the user friendliness, high definition voice quality, crystal clear voice clarity and exceptional support of the Polycom IP phone lineup,” said Jason Stephen Ali, social media director at BroadConnect Telecom. “In light of growing demands for intelligent face-to-face video collaboration, accessible from the cloud, BroadConnect’s support of Polycom VVX Business Media Phones strives to meet and exceed those demands by providing BroadConnect customers with access to affordable, high-quality desktop voice and video solutions capable of growing with their businesses.”
BroadConnect Telecom also said it plans to support the newly launched Polycom VVX 300 and Polycom VVX 400 Business Phones.
