ShoreTel Sky Soars to New Heights

February 28, 2013

According to reports, ShoreTel is in the lead for the Unified Communications as a Service private cloud market. The data published by Synergy Research Group has found it to rank first worldwide, which is normally an impressive feat, but in this case is the 12th quarter in a row for ShoreTel to claim the prize.

In the second quarter of 2013, revenues for ShoreTel’s cloud services rose by 9 percent sequentially, but also by 14 percent from the same time last year. It also saw a great growth in customers, with 178 new ones making cloud bookings.

Currently, ShoreTel Sky is the top-ranked UCaaS private cloud market share. According to Synergy’s findings, it’s far ahead from its nearest competitor, with a very nice and clear leadership.

"We are pleased with the continued momentum of our cloud business and steady market share gains, which reflect our commitment to offering customers brilliantly simple and flexible UC solutions and business phone systems," said Keith Nealon, president of ShoreTel's Cloud Division, in a statement. "ShoreTel's cloud growth, along with our strong on-premise business, gives us a unique position in the marketplace. With industry experts estimating that at least 40 percent of the telephony market sales will be cloud solutions by 2015, we are well positioned to take full advantage of the great growth opportunities that exist today."

ShoreTel has done an amazing job to secure a lead in this market for so long. There’s competition from all sides, but ShoreTel Sky is a great solution with a proven record of success. This ranking is a testament to the company’s prowess, and should prove reassuring to any considering turning to ShoreTel for its UCaaS needs.
