Alteva Becomes Reseller of Data Backup Services from MozyPro

January 10, 2012

As a cloud-based unified communications solutions provider, Alteva prides itself on offering a reliable network to its customers. But now, with the addition of a data backup solution alongside its hosted VoIP and UC products and services, Alteva can truly toot its own horn.

Today, the Philadelphia-based company revealed it has joined the Mozy Reseller Program to become an authorized reseller of MozyPro, a cost-effective and secure online data backup solution. Alteva is a subsidiary of Warwick Valley Telephone Company, referred to as WVT Communications Group.

“With electronic data on the rise, many companies are transitioning to electronic filing, making automated backup of files crucial. In the event of a disaster, companies should not have to worry about losing critical business data,” said Elizabeth Backus, product manager, Alteva, in a press release. “While traditional backup solutions can be expensive and take weeks to set up, a reliable online backup solution like MozyPro can be setup by Alteva in a fraction of the time, with no setup fees, or hardware purchases. Additionally, having one provider that offers a complete suite of cloud services eliminates the need to manage multiple vendors.”

MozyPro is renowned for its ability to safeguard and secure critical documents and information, offering businesses with a seamless Web-based administration console to manage them. Mozy’s data backup products join Alteva’s robust portfolio of cloud services including hosted Microsoft Communication Services, such as Exchange, SharePoint and OCS with voice integration, as well as fixed mobile convergence, video and Web conferencing, enhanced voice applications for PCs, data connectivity and beyond.

“Data backup is a critically important consideration when planning for disaster recovery. If you don’t have a consistent strategy for backup, you are opening the door to liabilities and huge losses in revenue and reputation,” said Louis Hayner, executive vice president and chief sales officer, Alteva. “By providing MozyPro back up services through Alteva we can present our customers with another trusted solution that will protect their business from data loss and help them avoid costly delays in the event of downtime.”

Alteva will return as an exhibitor to ITEXPO East 2012 being held in Miami, Fla., Feb. 1 to 3. During 2011’s ITEXPO West conference, Alteva’s own William Bumbernick, founder and chief innovation consultant, spread the word on the true benefits of UC for the SMB market.

“There are many different drivers when it comes to creating efficiency and improving workplace productivity. Implementing various types of technologies, especially those of a collaborative nature, top that list including hosted VoIP and UC,” said Bumbernick at the time. “Not only will collaborative technologies save money, but allow businesses to streamline processes, permitting more time to concentrate on what they do best – be it customer service, sales, or innovation.”

This year, Alteva as well as WVT Communications Group and its other subsidiary, USA Datanet, will return to the ITEXPO show floor to educate attendees on how the channel must align itself with the growing unified communications and service providers markets. The session, entitled “Educating the Channel with Industry Standard Certifications,” is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., and will feature Alteva’s Hayner as the speaker.
