Cypress Communications Expands Flagship UCaaS Offering with Cisco

August 23, 2011

Cypress Communications recently announced that they have expanded their flagship C4 Product Suite with the help of Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution. The product C4 UC will be a Cisco HCS, integrating into Cypress Cloud infrastructure and delivered as an enterprise and hosted Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS). This Cisco technology will allow Cypress to provide UCaaS with some innovative capabilities.

UCaaS will provide seamless call transfers from fixed to mobile phones, use of presence technology, web conferencing, desktop video and a state-of-the-art mobile client that extends to Apple iOS and Android based devices including Cisco Cius. This innovative product will be available for sale by September 2011 and is a highly anticipated solution from Cypress.

In a release, Frank Grillo, Cypress EVP of Applications, Implementations and Support said, “Adding the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution platform to our C4 Product Suite complements our award-winning C4 IP hosted unified communications (UC) solution and gives us the flexibility to provide a broad range of options for our SME customers. We’re seeing an increase in mobile collaboration using phones and tablets, and more often than not, social media and federation are being used by our customers.”

He continued, “With C4 UC, users can have the social mobility and flexible collaboration they want, while at the same time allowing the enterprise to ramp to full infrastructure in the cloud and all of the inherent benefits that the cloud brings – cost savings, operational efficiency and business continuity. The Cypress cloud allows the enterprise to nimbly adapt to new technologies, like C4 UC, but with the confidence and peace-of-mind that comes from knowing that your application is basically ‘CallManager in the cloud’ backed by technology giant Cisco, a trusted leader in infrastructure, networks and communications.”

Cypress will provide an enterprise level cloud computing based national infrastructure with Cisco HCS in the UCaaS solution. The new product has mobility and collaboration and will be marketed as C4 UC.

Eric Schoch, Cisco’s senior director of product management said, “Through the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution, Cisco is enabling Cypress Communications to provide cloud computing-based software and Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions that offer unmatched levels of deployment flexibility, scalability, ease of technology management and robust business continuity.”
