LIWEST Kabelmedien GmbH, the second largest Austrian cable operator, has selected ARRIS ServAssure Advanced Performance Management Software to proactively manage its DOCSIS network operations to improve their customers' triple play experience.

More than 135,000 residential and business customers in Upper Austria, including the city of Linz, are served by LIWEST.

"We are committed to ensuring the highest possible degree of customer experience," said Hubert Riedl, LIWEST EVP, Products and Services, in a press release. "We compared the network and service assurance solutions that are currently available and chose ARRIS ServAssure Advanced.

To optimize the quality and capacity of DOCSIS networks, ServAssure Advanced provides customer experience monitoring and performance tools. The available tools also enable substantial improvements in the present bandwidth and customer quality of experience.

ServAssure Advanced offers cable service providers with the ability to proactively address network and customer service assurance while reducing mean-time-to-repair by presenting complex data and health metrics in meaningful organized views.

Company officials said that the operators, through these diagnostics, along with expert recommendations, are able to improve customer satisfaction, increase network capacity and reduce operational costs with minimal CAPEX.

In addition to this, ARRIS ServAssure Advanced also offers comprehensive assurance features in a modular offering. This, when deployed across LIWEST, helps the company to add consistency, flexibility and efficiencies to its network operations.

In a statement, ARRIS SVP, Sales for EMEA Claudio Cerioli, said: "We are honored to provide LIWEST with this proven set of DOCSIS network monitoring tools to help them achieve the rigorous customer service standards they have set themselves."

"ARRIS ServAssure Advanced offers a comprehensive solution for cable systems looking to assure their customers of the most reliable and always-on service -- a feature that will help LIWEST differentiate itself from the competition."

In related news, ARRIS has been successful to deploy DOCSIS 3.0 C4 CMTS and Touchstone WBM760 Wideband cable modems, for an IPv6 services trial by Comcast in the MSO's Denver area systems.
