Chorus Call, Aethra.net Join Forces for the Development of Collaboration Market

April 06, 2011

Chorus Call Italia, a subsidiary of Chorus Call and a teleconference provider with satellite offices throughout the world, announced it acquired controlling equity stake in Aethra.net, an Italian firm that operates in the remote collaboration and value-added services markets.

With this agreement, both companies will benefit from a wider range of innovative services and a greater presence and capability in the global market. Videoconferencing and collaboration is an emerging business globally.

“Aethra.net's historical skills in the areas of audioconferencing and videoconferencing, as well as its significant customer base, make this new organization an important player in the market of unified communications,” said Giovanni Beltrami, managing director of Chorus Call Italia, in a statement.

“We are truly pleased and proud of the participation of an industrial partner such as Chorus Call,” said Elena Viezzoli, managing director of Aethra.net. “Chorus Call is a company with offices around the world that utilizes the technology of Compunetix, a global leader in the development, production, and marketing of audio, video, and web collaboration platforms.”

Aethra.net is focusing in the field of remote collaboration. The company offers meeting services including multipoint audioconferencing, videoconferencing, Webcasts and Webconferencing.

In addition, Aethra.net is also the exclusive distributor in Italy for videoconferencing products from leading companies such as CeeLab, a Norwegian VC vendor, via OEM and distributor agreements with Sony.

In June 2010, Aethra net, and Videoworks, which holds an OEM agreement with Sony Japan with validity on the entire Europe, announced that they signed an agreement of exclusive distribution for the territory of Italy.
