AVI-SPL to Launch Multi-Functional Telepresence Solution
In an effort to provide businesses with an adaptive unified communications solution, AVI-SPL, a global leader in the videoconferencing space, recently announced the launch of a multifunction TelePresence product, known as Caméléon.
AVI-SPL’s newly-released product combines innovative audio and video technologies – including three 60-inch high-definition LCD displays, fully integrated digital audio, video codecs and specialized furniture design – to create a modifiable, multi-purpose teleconferencing solution.
John Vitale, Director of Product Management for AVI-SPL, said in an interview with TMC that Caméléon was created to address three main challenges that customers often face when considering a Telepresence suite: affordability, adaptability and customization.
“Customers can't afford to dedicate a conference room for Telepresence calls only,” said Vitale. “They need a solution that allows any type of meeting to take place in the room and provides the necessary tools as part of the system. “
To accomplish this goal, AVI-SPL equipped Caméléon with 4 main modes of use: Telepresence, Videoconference, Audio Conference and Local Presentation. This means the solution can be continually adapted to a variety of office settings. Available options include a second participant row, automated room control for lighting, shades and climate as well as additional presentation sources, such as DVD players and document cameras.
For customers who are looking for a hands-off approach to teleconferencing, the solution is capable of being monitored, managed and controlled by AVI-SPL. The company can also tailor the level of support through its ConferencePoint Managed Services program.
“We have found that one size does not fit all as it relates to immersive Telepresence,” noted Vitale. “Our customers are looking for ways to maximize the use of office space and have state-of-the-art communications technology, all while staying within budget, and Caméléon delivers on all points.”
He added that the launch of the new solution should appease the growing number of customers that no longer view travel as a staple of their business. Each year, more companies look to take advantage of travel alternatives to reduce expenses, eliminate delays and improve the quality of life of their employees.
Caméléon is expected to be available for shipment on October 1.
