Pakistan's Mobilink Selects Acision's Mobile Data Services Solution

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Mobilink, one of Pakistan's mobile operators and a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom (News - Alert) Holding, has selected the Acision SMSC to expand its messaging capability to manage growth in messaging traffic.

"Acision has a proven track record in products, expertise and continuous service innovations, and is one of Mobilink's (News - Alert) trusted value partners”, said Rashid Khan, president and CEO, Mobilink, in a statement.

Khan said that with the customers expecting exceptional quality and performance from each of the services and products, the company is confident that Acision (News - Alert) will continue to aid it in delivering high quality and performance every time.

Sherif Hamoudah, senior vice president and general manager for Acision in Middle East, Africa and Pakistan said that Acision's track record in underpinning high-volume messaging services has enabled the company to become a trusted partner to mobile network operators across the world.

Hamoudah said that as a global leader in mobile data, Acision is committed to powering high revenue services.

“We firmly believe in close partnerships with our customers and we understand what drives their business. This is why leading operators like Mobilink choose to work with Acision to support their mobile data services business," he said.

Officials with Acision said that the SMSC, part of the Acision Mobile Data Services portfolio, enables operators to reduce total cost of ownership of their SMS infrastructure, manage their messaging capacity according to customer demand and consistently deliver a high quality of service.

Back in June Videocon Telecommunications Limited, the newest entrant in the Indian mobile market, had selected Acision's mobile data solutions in order to provide quality mobile services to users in the region.

Acision, a major player in mobile data, will help Videocon to offer messaging, mobile broadband and charging solutions, enabling the operator to quickly grow its market share.

In the run up to its launch, Videocon will rollout a range of rich mobile messaging, mobile broadband, advanced voicemail, prepaid data charging and mobile marketing services.

Officials with Acision said that these services will be powered by a broad range of the company’s mobile data products, all part of Acision's data services architecture and broadband mobility suite.
