Acision OIP to Improve KPN Group Belgium's Network Performance and Mobile Data Control

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

KPN Group Belgium's customers will soon enjoy an enhanced mobile data experience thanks to the addition of the Acision (News - Alert) Broadband Mobility Suite.

This was announced by Acision, a provider of mobile data. KPN Group Belgium is a subsidiary of Netherlands' Koninklijke KPN, one of the most advanced telecom operators in Europe.
To intelligently manage its mobile data traffic flow and improve network performance, KPN Group Belgium will be deploying the Acision Open Internet Proxy or OIP. Acision OIP is a part of the Acision Broadband Mobility Suite. Mobile broadband optimization, policy management and value added services are combined by the Acision Broadband Mobility Suite. KPN Group Belgium's geographic mobile broadband solution will be strengthened by Acision OIP. This will enhance the end user experience and also reduce the total cost of ownership.
KPN Group Belgium has a market share of 25 percent. To keep pace with the rapid increase in data traffic and the demands of new technology, the company is continuously investing in its network. KPN Group Belgium will be given a single solution for data access and centralization with the Acision OIP platform, including WAP and HTTP proxy. This will provide easy management of mobile data traffic and greater visibility of customers' requirements. Hence there will be a better control and faster delivery of richer value added services.
In a release, Bob Blaauw, Manager Mobile Data and Content at KPN Group Belgium, said: "We have worked with Acision for many years due to its operational excellence and proven reputation within the market. This latest implementation will further optimise our capabilities and enable us to be at the forefront of the Belgian telecommunications space."
Blaauw added the company will be able to intelligently manage its mobile data, be it mobile broadband or multimedia content with this solution. The solution will also enhance the services and scale upwards to deal with any surge in traffic against a low cost.
According to Rory Buckley (News - Alert), CEO of Acision, the OIP solution is a fundamental part of the Acision Broadband Mobility Suite. This is to help operators implement a profitable, reliable and future-proof mobile broadband service. The company is delighted to strengthen the relationship with KPN Group Belgium through this new deployment.
