BigFix to Expand BT MobileXpress Desktop Management

BigFix announced that it has adopted as the service delivery platform by the global mobility capability team of BT Global Services (News - Alert) for its new service, BT MobileXpress Desktop Management.

Customers can access BT MobileXpress Desktop Management, a global service through BT UK and international sales channels.
 
BT MobileXpress customers will be able to manage their mobile and remote PCs with the BigFix solutions available as a Software-as-a-Service delivery model initially. Solutions drawn from the entire BigFix product line, including Asset Inventory Management, Software Distribution, Patch Management, Software Asset Management, Security Configuration and Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Protection, and Power Management are provided by the service.
 
Jonathan Brasnett, head, global mobility capability, BT Global Services, said: "Integrating BigFix into our service delivery and customer management platform is an innovative step within the mobility arena, which gives us greater agility when introducing new value-add services to BT MobileXpress - and to our wider mobility customer base." Brasnett added the complexity associated with managing remote device environments will also be reduced as this is an area which is increasingly important according to the company's customers.
 
Both MSP and SaaS (News - Alert)-style services are delivered by the BigFix multi-tenant platform for multiple market segments, ranging from small businesses to global enterprises. A robust, reliable PKI architecture along with data segregation makes it a platform with strong security. The BigFix platform supports Linux, Unix, Mac, Windows, Windows Mobile/POS devices, and ESX.
 
The platform has a single console, single communication channel and single management client. Multiple APIs for SQL, SOAP and compliance API along with real-time visibility, continuous compliance and pervasive control are provided by the platform. It executes and validates changes across 5,000 to 500,000 machines in minutes. The platform provides solution authoring in BigFix's powerful 'Relevance' language. Add-on services are possible with the subscription-based policy content, without additional infrastructure or downtime. Customization of reporting, console wizards and portal is also possible.
