By Alice Straight, TMCnet Web Editor

Google is steering customers to the Droid Incredible by HTC (News - Alert) as an alternative to the long-awaited Nexus One.

In a blog post, the Incredible, which will run on Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless' network, is called a cousin of the Nexus One and readers are told that it will be available in stores on April 29.

In the United Kingdom, Vodafone (News - Alert) is accepting pre-orders for Nexus One and on April 30 the phone will be sold in Vodafone stores, online and over the phone. The phone will then rollout in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain.
