Long Island School District Contest Winner to Receive $35,000 for Wireless Makeover

By Mini Swamy, TMCnet Contributor

With wireless rapidly gaining in popularity for home and office use, wireless technology continues to improve and make inroads in all sectors. By connecting the workforce, access to information and resources has become easier than before.

Cisco (News - Alert)'s societal commitments contribute to a sustainable economic environment. Towards this end, it has worked with organizations and educational institutions to apply effective 21st century technology.

Mobility solutions based on wireless technology have created a competitive atmosphere, where schools are interacting with each other in novel and effective ways. As a consequence, staff, faculty, students and parents have access to information and resources anytime, anywhere, over a secure and reliable wireless network.

In this connection, BlueWater Communications Group and Cisco Systems (News - Alert) Inc. are teaming up to offer a wireless makeover to a Long Island School District. A wireless makeover to the tune of $35,000 has been promised to the school, which wins the contest that is currently being conducted by both companies.

The contest is open to all schools in Long Island District. Administrators interested in submitting their school district for consideration in the contest need to fill out a short application. Information furnished should give details as to how the district plans to use the $35,000 makeover that is being offered, to help the school system and the students.

May 15, 2010 is the last date for receipt of entries. Entries received after that date would be considered ineligible. Contest rules and relevant information are available for perusal.

"We have several employees that reside here in Long Island, and many of which have their own children in the school systems. We are so excited to run this contest, and have the participation of Cisco, enabling us to 'give back' to our community," said Vincent Trama, vice president of Sales for BlueWater, said.

BlueWater is focused on providing high-performance, holistic, cohesive IT infrastructure solutions to growing companies. It specializes in providing organizations with Full Life Cycle services in Unified Communications (News - Alert), Collaboration & Video, Virtualization, Consolidation & Data Center, and Security solutions to increase productivity and improve business operations.
