Gartner Positions Antenna Software in 'Leaders Quadrant' for Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Gartner, Inc., announced it has positioned Antenna Software, a company that offers business mobility services to enterprises, in the ‘Leaders Quadrant’ of the “Magic Quadrant for Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms” report.

Apart from being recognized in this report, the company announced that it added 200 customers and 250,000 end users in 2009, and achieved a compound annual growth rate of 85 percent.

The Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant (MQ) is a proprietary research tool developed by Gartner Inc., which offers a qualitative analysis into a market and its direction, maturity and participants. This analysis by the company helps the organizations placed in the Magic Quadrant to be more competitive in the market.

Gartner said offerings in this Magic Quadrant, and mobile application enablement, will continue to grow in importance to enterprises during the next three to five years. Also, companies will continue to extend decision-relevant information to their mobile employees.

Antenna Software recently acquired its competitor Dexterra, which will help it scale globally and drive innovation.

“Not only is Antenna the de facto industry leader in the mobile market, but it is also the leader with the most vision, setting the standard for where the industry is going in 2010 and beyond,” said Jim Hemmer, president and CEO, Antenna Software. “The beauty of mobility is that it has the power to align IT infrastructure more tightly with business needs, facilitating macro improvements in business processes.”

Antenna Software has implemented an aggressive product roadmap for its flagship Antenna Mobility Platform. The company said it believes that the mobile apps empower the frontlines of the company and engaging mobile-savvy customers in new ways.

In February, the company debuted the AMP IM, the first cross-platform, ready-to-deploy mobile instant messaging solution. The company stated that this solution is suited for mobile workers. Offering an economical, auditable and secure means of real-time collaboration among mobile workgroups, AMP IM complements an organization’s unified communications and mobile strategy.
