Aspect has been certified by Microsoft as a Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 Voice specialization partner. This certification has been given for the Microsoft Unified Communications Solutions competency.
The Voice specialization within the Microsoft Unified Communications (News - Alert) Solutions competency allows companies to make it stand apart from others with its expertise in planning and implementing Voice over IP (VoIP), unified messaging, and conferencing solutions. The company will make use of Microsoft OCS and Microsoft Exchange Server. To qualify, the company must employ or contract with at least two individuals, each of whom must have passed the relevant Microsoft exams.
After successfully completing the Microsoft Technology Adoption Program internal pilot for OCS 2007 R2 Voice specialization, Aspect (News - Alert) received this certification. The company also completed a four-week intensive training program.
“Aspect's certification as one of the industry's first Voice specialized partners for Office Communications Server 2007 R2 demonstrates our dedication to building on our mission-critical voice experience, continuously enhancing our UC expertise and delivering the benefits of our knowledge to our customers for their UC implementations,” said Kevin Schwartz, executive vice president of Global Professional Services, Aspect. “This certification underscores the caliber of our UC Services practice.”
The training program completed by Aspect includes three boot camps and a Voice Ignite workshop. Participants completing this track passed the Microsoft Active Directory exam, Microsoft Exchange Server exam, and a Microsoft Office Communications Server exam. More than 40 Aspect employees had been certified and by the end of 2009 in the last half of 2008. The company expects about 200 Aspect employees with this certification by the end of 2009.
In January, Aspect announced that the company is supporting the virtual launch of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 Release 2 as a platinum sponsor. Aspect is making a lot of inroads of late in the UC space as the company is also taking part in a panelist discussion – along with Nortel, CommuniGate, Interactive Intelligence and Objectworld.
