Global Knowledge, a provider of training courses in the field of IT and business, has announced the availability of two new Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) training courses that features integrated Cisco and Microsoft technologies.
Available in the company’s classrooms as well as on-site, the first course entitled ‘Cisco and Microsoft Dial Plan Integration (CMDPI)’ provides training on dial plan integration, whereas the second course entitled ‘Enhanced Cisco Presence with Microsoft Foundations (ECPMF)’ provides instruction on Presence server deployment, configuration, and integration.
According to Global Knowledge (News - Alert), the ‘Cisco and Microsoft Dial Plan Integration (CMDPI)’ course explains how a UC network with a complex dial plan can be implemented and designed by making use of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) integrated with Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS). With this, students will familiarize features of both vendors’ technologies, including CUCM and OCS architecture and dial plan components, along with dial plan troubleshooting.
The enrolled students are required to be familiar with PBX (News - Alert) or IP Telephony administration and management concepts before taking the CMDPI course. The company also advises students to be familiar with basic dial plan concepts, network protocols, Microsoft Active Directory, and UC applications (e-mail, voice mail, and presence) before taking up this course, said Global Knowledge.
Global Knowledge says that it’s ‘Enhanced Cisco Presence with Microsoft (News - Alert) Foundations (ECPMF)’ course will explain how to implement a complete Cisco Presence solution leveraging the full capabilities of Cisco as well as Microsoft. By taking up this course, students will be able to discover the key Presence architectural components, product features, and points of interoperability between the two vendor technologies.
The enrolled students with ECPMF course are required to be familiar with CUCM, Microsoft Active Directory, exchange server 2003 messaging, OCS 2007, network protocols, and UC applications before taking up this course, said Global Knowledge.
Tailor-made according to the needs of an organization, both the new courses are application-oriented and emphasizes hands-on training in real-world scenarios, thereby enabling the students to gain skills on both the technologies, said Global Knowledge.
