Satyam Computer Services, a global consulting and information technology services provider, has partnered with U.S.-based software maker K2 to provide end-to-end business process management solutions (BPM) on Microsoft platforms.

 

K2 specializes in providing workflow and BPM solutions based on its K2 blackpearl and K2 blackpoint software. Under the agreement, both companies will also collaborate on go-to-market activities for the promotion of software adoption and sales.

 

Explaining the reason behind this alliance, the officials note that it is important for companies to streamline business operations to remain competitive. Business processes need to be customer-centric and highly responsive to change and BPM provides that flexibility, while enabling convergence of people, process and technology.

 

Sriram Krishnan, head of Content and Process Management at Satyam, is confident that this collaboration will benefit customers of both companies. A combination of K2’s robust products and Satyam's BPM consulting and implementation services will provide organizations with operational cost savings, and error reduction. The alliance is expected to benefit a number of industries, including energy, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications and insurance.

 

K2 blackpearl, a comprehensive BPM suite, enables Microsoft (News - Alert) users to build process-driven applications with visual, familiar tools. The solution helps organizations to accomplish a number of tasks such as streamline operations, cut down IT costs, improve responsiveness, minimize risk and make better business decisions.

 

Dave Marcus, vice president of global alliances for K2 explained that Satyam’s experience in collaboration, enterprise content management and business process solutions, along with the power of K2 blackpearl, K2 blackpoint and their K2 connect for SAP (News - Alert) offering, enable a new class of applications for their customers.

 

Satyam has announced that next year they will develop a Center of Excellence (CoE) in Chennai, India, to ensure timely support, delivery and governance of K2-based solutions. The center will focus on developing frameworks and methodologies by using K2’s SmartObject (reusable business entity) technology. These efforts are expected to enable better decision making, routing and reporting based on 360-degree visibility across line-of-business systems.
