By Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributor

At the Mobile World Congress 2010 event currently underway in Barcelona, Spain, Telepo announced that it has added TeliaSonera (News - Alert) as its first major communications service provider to offer unified communications as a service through Telepo Business Communication Solution.

TeliaSonera is a telecommunications provider in the Nordic and Baltic countries, offering mobile and fixed network services.

"We are delighted to announce TeliaSonera as our first major 'Telco'service provider as it highlights the breakthrough we are making in this market," said Lars Wahlstrom, chief executive officer at Telepo (News - Alert), in a release.

Telepo’s software platform enables service providers to offer unified communication as a service to the enterprise segment. The software can also be installed on all devices including; smartphones, simple mobiles, laptops, web browsers and desk phones and also on premise for large enterprises. This business communication solution, which is now in its third generation, is said to excel in areas that are critical for cloud deployments -- such as multi-tenancy, superior user experience and mobility. With this solution, service providers can communicate and access rich functionality wherever they are from any device at their convenience.

This year’s Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) is said to feature visionary keynotes and action-provoking panel discussions, will have a display of cutting-edge products and technology and awards ceremony and industry seminars highlighting the most innovative mobile solutions and initiatives globally.

Recently Telepo joined the BlackBerry (News - Alert) Alliance Program to further develop and market its solution to BlackBerry users across the world. Click here to know further about this.
