What: NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a global IP network services provider, today announced the company will sponsor the Ibero-American Association of Research Centers and Telecommunications Enterprises (AHCIET) conference, XXIV Reunión Iberoamericana Tráfico Internacional. Company representatives from the Global IP Network Business Unit of NTT America will be available during the exhibit and negotiation portion of the event. In addition, NTT America's Manager of Business Development for Latin America, David Berrios, will offer his expertise on the topic of "Services and Applications that Demand Broadband."

Who: David Berrios, Manager of Business Development for Latin America, NTT America, will deliver his presentation on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 from 10:30 a.m. DST until 10:50 a.m. DST.

Why: NTT America recently announced its Latin American affiliate NTT do Brasil has joined AHCIET, a membership which solidifies NTT Com's commitment to the Latin American market. NTT do Brasil's application to AHCIET was based on Latin America's growing demand for IP transit services and the company's current South American customer base, which includes some of the continent's largest carriers. International Internet traffic to and from Latin America grew 120 percent in the past year, more than twice the global average.

Founded in 1982, AHCIET is a non-profit organization representing more than 50 Latin American and Spanish telecommunications companies from 20 countries in Latin America and Spain. Companies join with the goal of contributing to telecommunications development as a basis of economic growth and development.
