Renew Your Boat Registration Instantly With Utah's Renewal Express; Utah.gov's Online Renewal Service Processes Watercraft as Well as Motor Vehicle Renewals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah --(Business Wire)-- April 30, 2004 -- Across the country, the month of April means fresh rainwater and springtime weather. In Utah, April also means boats. But you can't use your boat if you don't first renew your boat registration, and thankfully, the state of Utah has made that very easy to do online.

Boat owners can renew their watercraft registration online at the state's official Web site (www.Utah.gov) for the same price as a mail-in or over-the-counter renewal. Prior to Memorial Day weekend, DMV offices are besieged by outdoor enthusiasts, eager to take their RVs and watercraft out of the garage and into the wild. To avoid driving to a DMV office, use Renewal Express to renew your registration at any time of day or night. It only takes a few minutes if you follow these simple steps. 1.) Enter Your PIN and Identification: In March, all boat owners received a registration renewal packet in the mail. In this packet is a PIN (Personal Identification Number), which can be used to access the Renewal Express system online and renew watercraft registrations. Citizens who did not receive a renewal packet should contact the Utah State Tax Commission at 1-800-DMV-UTAH. 2.) Confirm Your Registration Information: Once you've supplied your PIN and accessed the Renewal Express system on the Internet, verify that the information you have provided is correct before making a payment. 3.) Enter Your Credit Card Information: Internet security is on everyone's mind these days. Rest assured that Renewal Express is a secure application and any personal or financial information you enter is protected. To pay your registration renewal fee, you'll need to type in your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit card information in the appropriate boxes. 4.) Receive Your Temporary Registration Certificate: Now that you've supplied all the necessary registration and payment information, you can print a temporary registration certificate. Your permanent registration certificate will arrive by mail in a few days. 5.) Hit the Lakes and Have Fun: Hopefully, this step is self-explanatory.
