Sunoco Logistics Connects to Remote Offices with MegaMeeting Video Conferencing

The key to running a smooth operation between the headquarters and many remote offices for Sunoco Logistics is hassle-free communication.

Crude oil and refined petroleum products are transported and stored by Sunoco Logistics to various centers in the Northeast, Midwest and Gulf Coast regions of the United States.

In order to improve company-wide communication, Sunoco Logistics took help of MegaMeeting.com. Help was also taken from MegaMeeting.com to increase employee productivity and also drive down the time and money spent on business related travel.


Sunoco Logistics is now using 100 percent web-based video conferencing product from MegaMeeting.com. Earlier, advanced planning, employee travel and at times paying the price for short notice airfares were involved to conduct a meeting. After the implementation of MegaMeeting.com, a meeting can be held in a short span of as less than half an hour. Teams can therefore now be more responsive to their customer’s needs.

In a release, Jerry Higgins, E/I Supervisor, Sunoco Logistics said, “We've used MegaMeeting.com in annual face-to-face meetings with the CEO to limit travel to remote locations where a limited number of employees are stationed. Audio and video were broadcast to remote areas and questions taken via chat window.”

Training sessions have also been using MegaMeeting.com. Several employees need not travel for the union management meetings, as MegaMeeting.com can be used for the same.

MegaMeeting.com has a unique online demo. It also has a great online help. Sunoco Logistics therefore decided to use MegaMeeting.com over other service providers. A representative from MegaMeeting.com was with Sunoco Logistics until the things were fully up and running. MegaMeeting.com has also been providing after support on the telephone.

In a release, Higgins added, “I even got emergency support over a weekend when someone gave me a Monday requirement via a Saturday email; MegaMeeting has been available and responsive to my needs, even when my customer’s request seemed unreasonable. I feel confident in telling my customers, ‘We can do it.’”
