LifeSize Communications Unveils New HD Video Conferencing Offerings and Product Enhancements

LifeSize Communications, a dealer in high definition video communications and telepresence, announced that enterprises can now work together more efficiently and IT departments can enjoy more robust deployment and management capabilities from its newly unveiled high-definition videoconferencing offerings and product enhancements.

LifeSize (News - Alert) said its high-definition product suite delivers superior video quality, exceptional audio coverage and seamless manageability through innovative next-gen videoconferencing technology. They have released version 4.7 of their system software that now allows users to share data such as spreadsheets and slide presentations during video conferences – without swapping cables – using LifeSize’s Passport and LGExecutive systems, powered by LifeSize.

The company’s Virtual Link’s clean and simple UI allows users to search for endpoints on their network and organize their favorites for recurring meetings. LifeSize also allows users to view the status of each endpoint before starting their presentation. The Virtual Link is now available for LGExecutive, powered by LifeSize and LifeSize Passport only.  

In addition, LifeSize Desktop delivers HD video communications from the convenience of the PC – enabling mobile users to stay connected, anytime, anywhere. A natural extension of the existing LifeSize HD video environment, LifeSize Desktop keeps remote teams in sync without compromising on quality. Unlike other applications, LifeSize Desktop is a standalone desktop client that allows users to receive 720p30 video in full 16:9 format, for effective collaboration at a distance. The system’s HD audio with echo cancellation delivers a rich, true-to-life experience.

The LifeSize Transit is a complete firewall and NAT traversal solution that enables users to make video calls within and across enterprises and organizations by securely traversing firewalls. With standards-based H.460 and SIP tunneling, the result is secure, simple to use video communications. 

LifeSize Control enables multi-vendor, IP management that offers centralized control and easy to use reporting, web based interfaces and standards support. The new version 5.0 video management software ensures IT administrators to easily manage critical elements of the network, maintaining reliable HD video conferencing, even in heterogeneous video environments. The new version has been designed to fit any business environment, with new support for LifeSize Desktop and LifeSize Video Center, Google (News - Alert) calendar and scheduling integration, and user-customizable administrator settings and directories.
