Belmont, Calif.-based FaceTime Communications, a provider of solutions that allow for the safe use of Web 2.0 and unified communications in the enterprise, announced that it has appointed Tim Conley as the company’s new chief financial officer.

Conley brings more than 25 years of strategic and tactical financial management, network security, and initial public offerings experience to FaceTime Communications (News - Alert).

In a press release, officials with FaceTime Communications said that Conley has provided financial leadership for both private and publicly owned technology companies. This has resulted in successful IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, as well as various other strategic activities for these companies.

Prior to be appointed as CFO of FaceTime Communications, Conley was CFO of Tumbleweed Communications (News - Alert) (now Axway), a public company specializing in secure e-mail and file transfer technology for enterprise and government networks.

Conley has also worked as vice president of finance and CFO of Valicert Inc., a technology company specializing in secure Internet communications and identity validation software for file transfer, financial messaging, and business process integration. In 2003, Valicert was acquired by Tumbleweed.

At Valicert, Conley was actively involved in taking the company public, said officials.

Conley, a certified public accountant, has worked at Price Waterhouse as an audit manager.

“Tim brings experience from both start-ups and public companies, and the journey between the two,” said Kailash Ambwani, president and CEO of FaceTime. “He understands issues surrounding compliance and regulation such as Sarbanes-Oxley and the pressures of international operations – concerns that our customers face when dealing with how to control and monitor unified communications and Web 2.0 applications within their networks.”

Conley, on being part of Facetime Communications, said in a release that he is happy to join a company that is at the center enabling enterprises to securely take advantage of Web 2.0 communications.

Conley added, “The convergence between public communications such as social networks and micro blogging, with corporate based UC systems is one of the most exciting developments in communications in years.”
