Sunova Credit Union, a financial institution in Manitoba, reportedly has selected Mitel as the partner of choice to provide business applications to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their business.
According to a press release, Sunova, working with Mitel (News - Alert) premierPARTNER-MTS Allstream, selected the Mitel Communications Director software with feature-rich Mitel applications including Mitel Unified Communicator Advanced and the Mitel Unified IP Client for Sun Ray.
Company officials said that deployed in the central office, the Mitel Unified IP Client for Sun Ray delivers virtualized voice and desktop applications to each employee, and will soon connect to the nine other Sunova locations.
Once fully established the solution will combine the advanced features of a Mitel IP phone with the flexibility of a Sun Ray virtual desktop, allowing full desktop and telephony hot desking.
“Our Mitel solution enables seamless mobility and increases our work force efficiency as employees can instantly have access to their personal phone settings like speed dials and voicemail from anywhere within the company,” said Dallas Kostna, director of IT, Sunova, in a statement.
Kostna said that the solution also provides significant operating cost savings, minimum maintenance requirements and provides longer virtual desktop lifecycles.
“We are pleased to work with Sunova to deploy a solution that will help their employees interact more efficiently with customers,” said Kelvin Shepherd, president, MTS Allstream (News - Alert).
Shepherd said that this solution, the first of its kind in Manitoba, also allows Sunova to significantly improve its environmental initiatives, which was a major priority for them. The Mitel solution fulfills the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design tools and performance criteria, he added.
“Through our best-of-breed relationships, Mitel continues to create business enhancing solutions to fit individual needs of organizations,” said Jeff Nolan, vice president, Canadian sales, Mitel.
Nolan said that with Sun Microsystems (News - Alert) and MTS Allstream, the company has designed an easy-to-manage communications solution that drives costs savings and increases productivity, flexibility and security.
