ScanSource Enters into Agreement with IBM, ShoreTel

ScanSource Communications, a value-added distributor of communications products and a sales unit of ScanSource, Inc., has entered into an agreement with IBM and ShoreTel to distribute an integrated unified communications (News - Alert) solution.

 

ScanSource Communications plans to offer the total UC solution, named ShoreTel for IBM (News - Alert) Lotus Foundations, to its reseller partners.

 

According to ScanSource officials, the solution includes the IBM Lotus Foundations Reach, an appliance designed for small to medium businesses that customizes and extends IBM Lotus Sametime's UC and collaboration capabilities, as well as the ShoreTel (News - Alert) UC products.

 

Company officials said that by implementing this UC solution in the workplace, end users can better access people and information, improving productivity and efficiency.

Mark Arman, vice president of business development for ShoreTel, said that ShoreTel for IBM Lotus Foundations offers SMBs a world where IT and business communication come together in a simple, affordable and feature-rich solution. This solution is fully integrated and serviced by world-class partners, he said.

He said that solution resellers will have the opportunity to obtain all the components of the innovative solution from a single source.

Earlier this month ScanSource POS & Barcoding, a international value-added distributor of automatic identification and data capture and point-of-sale solutions and services and sales unit of ScanSource, Inc., signed a distribution agreement in North America with Fujitsu (News - Alert) America, Inc., a provider of IT-based business solutions for the global marketplace.

 

Through this agreement, ScanSource will be offering its reseller customers the Fujitsu TeamPoS family of point-of-sale terminals and peripherals.

 

Fujitsu TeamPoS terminals enable mission-critical applications, such as loyalty and customer relationship management, while delivering remote manageability and a space-saving footprint.
