Frost & Sullivan Recognizes MTS Allstream for its Competitive Strategy

December 02, 2009

Frost & Sullivan has reportedly awarded MTS Allstream Inc. with the 2009 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Competitive Strategy Leadership.

As all businesses have been affected by the present economic downturn, telco providers need, more than ever, to be innovative in their offerings – especially since customers can choose from several companies which offer videos services. MTS Allstream offers high quality videos services and is ahead of other competitors, said officials with Frost & Sullivan.

“Cable and satellite video providers have the majority of the market share, making it challenging for telco providers to grow in the video market,” explains Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst, Gina Villanueva. “Competitive strategies are crucial in today's environment; companies are monitoring their business closely and focusing on growth opportunities that will be available once the economy bounces back.”

MTS Allstream offers a variety of products including wireline and wireless telephony to security and alarm monitoring services along with video service. The company also launched a high definition television or HDTV platform in Manitoba known as MTS Ultimate TV. It enables customers to utilize an advanced personal video recorder or PVR to record up to three programs simultaneously. The programs can be viewed in any TV connected to the service in the house and the service also includes many other value-added features.

Customers of MTS Ultimate TV can select among channel packages and individual channels online using the Internet and a Web portal. Channel selections can also be made and changes implemented immediately for viewing. In addition, customers can benefit from home security and monitoring services besides the usual triple and quadruple-play services.

MTS Allstream’s customer support reflects the company’s desire to take care of customer needs, said company sources. Support pages are provided which help customers understand service bills and payment procedures. The Moving Wizard helps customers who move to a new home and the service is greatly simplified and available 24/7.
Officials with Frost & Sullivan pointed out that these factors helped the company to achieve the 2009 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Competitive Strategy Leadership in the North American video market.
