NET Expands Interoperability Features with New Release

By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, IP Communications Magazines

Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert) this week released new software for its VXe solution that supports OCS R2 and one-number faxing within Exchange 2007 and 2010.

Matthew Krueger, vice president of marketing and business development, says branch offices that can’t afford to install and maintain mediation servers to normalize codecs for OCS might find this an attractive option both for that codec translation and to offer survivability via rerouting OCS traffic if the WAN goes down.

“The codec should be the least of anyone’s concern,” says Krueger, adding that NET (News - Alert) is focused on delivering solutions that allow everything to work together in the network so customers can continue buying best-of-breed products.
