Cisco to Showcase Connected Life IP Next Generation Network

Cisco (News - Alert) made a variety of announcements to showcase its IP Next-Generation Network, or “IP NGN,” architecture and its technology innovation which enable service providers to deliver an increasing array of innovative “Connected Life” experiences to their customers at SUPERCOMM 2009.


Thousands of leaders in broadband equipment, converged networks and digital content participate at the conference to experience the SUPERCOMM Broadband Life forum. The government convenes with the largest private investors, service providers connected with enterprise network owners and the latest in broadband innovation on display and the center of discussion.

The Cisco IP NGN helps enable service providers to deliver differentiated Connected Life experiences to their residential and business customers by integrating voice, video and data to create unique “any-play” service offerings, at home, at work or on the move. 

Cisco Visual Networking Index Provides New Global Network Usage. Cisco announced new findings from the Cisco Visual Networking Index, or “VNI,” usage and research effort and it provides quantitative insights into current activity on service provider networks and a qualitative sampling of consumers' online behaviors. 

Also, Cisco announces agreement to acquire Starent network. Starent Networks (News - Alert) is a supplier of IP-based mobile infrastructure solutions for mobile and converged carriers. 

Cisco Helps Assure Internet's Future Amid Device Growth. Also, as part of announcement, Bharti Airtel (News - Alert) and Cisco form strategic alliance to help drive growth for Indian enterprises.

At SUPERCOMM 2009, attendees joined Cisco executives during several speaking engagements. A wide range of technology and solutions based on the Cisco heritage of thought leadership and market innovation were demonstrated at SUPERCOMM 2009.
