Meru Networks recently launched a Wireless Interoperability and Network Solutions (News - Alert) (WINS) partner program designed to assure all its customers of the demonstrated interoperability of their wireless solutions and applications using Meru's virtual cell wireless LAN infrastructure.

The object of the WINS program is to ensure that there are no surprises for customers deploying multi-vendor solutions on Meru's Virtualized Wireless LAN. The WINS program is being launched in conjunction with Meru's Customer Summit 2009 which is taking place through Friday.

The program's 32 charter members have had all their mobile clients, unified communications, real-time location, medical telemetry, network security, network management and all their other products tested and verified either at Meru's WINS Interoperability Lab in Sunnyvale or at the partners' own labs.

Sarosh Vesuna, vice president of business development at Meru, said that the company’s goal is to ensure that their customers do not encounter any surprises as they deploy or migrate their enterprise applications and devices to take advantage of Meru's virtualized wireless LAN infrastructure.

The company expects almost any laptop to work with a WLAN from the outset, although they know from experience that this cannot be assumed for application-specific mobile devices such as medical telemetry solutions, mobile printers, barcode scanners or VoIP handsets.

Vesuna added, “Most customer service calls are initiated because vendors haven't provided relevant interoperability documentation or configuration information.”

In addition to interoperability testing, WINS program partners also collaborate on marketing collateral which include testing, documentation and solution notes. Partners also take part in publicity, customer and channel partner identification, sales and support training,

Some of the current members of the Meru WINS program include AeroScout, Agito Networks, Bradford Networks, ConSentry Networks, Impulse Point, Intelleflex, Intermec, MobileAccess, Motion Computing, T-Mobile USA and a list of many other reputed Companies. All of Meru Voice & Video Unplugged partners are also automatically included in the WINS partner program.

Meru Networks (News - Alert) was founded in 2002 and is known for developing and marketing wireless LAN infrastructure solutions that use virtualization to deliver pervasive, high-fidelity wireless service for business-critical voice, video and data applications.
