Agito Networks Inc., a company delivering new technology in enterprise mobility, has announced that its RoamAnywhere Mobility Router has been recognized as a key driver in Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC).
Attendees to last month’s Cisco IP Telecommunications User Group (CIPTUG) Annual Conference voted RoamAnywhere Mobility Router as one of the best products showcased driving Unified Communications.
CIPTUG (News - Alert) operates as the official organization for users of Cisco Unified Communications products. A winner of the Best Manufacturing Application, Agito Networks’ (News - Alert) RoamAnywhere was highlighted in the event’s Application Bake-Off. This competition consisted of products demonstrated on the exhibition show floor held to drive innovative application development for Unified Communications.
"Agito has won more than 15 awards in 2008 so far, and this one is especially gratifying because it is a result of voting from real-world users of technology who saw the capabilities of RoamAnywhere in action at the exhibition," said Pejman Roshan (News - Alert), Agito Networks vice president of marketing, in a Wednesday statement.
"While we are also seeing success in a number of vertical markets, RoamAnywhere clearly provides unique benefits for mobile workers in the manufacturing industry. Like in other industries, access to applications and information is critical in manufacturing. Users tell us they are particularly impressed with the high-quality voice and resiliency RoamAnywhere delivers, especially in areas where cellular coverage is problematic."
CIPTUG hosted the Application Bake-Off Competition at the 2008 Annual Conference. During this time, end users and vendors demonstrated applications that solve unique, complex business problems across a variety of vertical markets.
The competition provided an opportunity for attendees to give direct, valuable feedback to developers to help drive innovation application development for Unified Communications. It was also an avenue for communicating between customers and developers.
Participants in this competition include CIPTUG members and non-member IPT vendors, in addition to CIPTUG end user members. The program provided a rare opportunity for application development teams throughout the world to showcase the latest uses of IP technology, as well as to be judged by the people who will buy and use the technology.
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is designed to uniquely fuse WiFi (News - Alert), cellular, IP telephony, and location information to improve the accessibility and responsiveness of mobile workers, while also drastically reducing mobile costs.
This Application Bake-Off competition provided a significant opportunity for vendors to demonstrate the power of their applications, as well as to measure how they perform compared to other market players.
Agito has demonstrated that its solution not only performs under pressure, but also that real users appreciate the value that it brings to the table. Such recognition helps to affirm the company’s current strategy for adoption and growth.
