Unified Communications Week in Review: Newstead Technologies, Intelisys & More

It has been a busy week for Unified Communications as it started with security and ended with a magic quadrant. A lot happened but here is your week in review so you will not miss a moment.

It started with security, as the Equifax breach was on everyone’s mind. To deny that these attacks are ever going to happen or act like they don’t can be detrimental to your business and to personal security. Next up, Newstead Technologies employed ShoreTel (News - Alert) for their unified communications needs. Newstead has an extremely devoted enterprise system, which includes IT solutions, maintenance/support services, Education Technology (EdTech), as well as system integration. Many companies vied for the position that ShoreTel landed but you can read the full article right here.

On the heels of this joining, Momentum (News - Alert) Telecom forged a partnership with Intelisys. Momentum is attempting to make several moves to keep momentum up. You can read the complete article about the partnership by clicking here.

Finally, Gartner came out with its UC Magic Quadrant report. Verizon, BT, Orange Business Services (News - Alert), 8x8, RingCentral and West, made it into the Leaders box, really no surprises there. There were also some heavy hitters in the Challengers box that I am surprised were not in with the Leaders. You can read all about that here.
