Kandy Powers GENBAND's Smart Office for Seamless UC Integration
The Kandy communications Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) is a real time software development platform built using GENBAND’s core real time technology. It provides contextual communications to deliver experiences that are more engaging, and gives service providers an easy to use and embed technology for real time communications that can be accessed on any device and at any time without the complexities of native applications. Smart Office v 3.3 will be using the Kandy PaaS to fully integrate unified communications (UC) with other business applications for the first time, this according to the GENBAND.
Within a single application, Smart Office will allow IT managers to add communications workflows in their business tools that can leverage cross-functional capabilities. This includes being able to integrate Web-based business applications and launch them directly from the UC client with a range of branding options for clients.
In the past, the barrier for adopting UC was the cost and complexity of integration with existing business processes, and according to Brian Partridge, Research Vice President, 451 Research, “The latest version of GENBAND's Smart Office addresses that challenge head on. The new offer promises customers the flexibility to create customized experiences while users can take advantage of cross-functional capabilities within a single application.”
GENBAND says this will be its industry-first interface which will allow providers, enterprise resellers and enterprise administrators to leverage the company’s Omni Web container technology and Kandy Business Solutions to deliver a consistent, customizable experience across desktop and mobile. These organizations can design and deliver customized solutions to better compete without waiting for native client customizations.
By facilitating employee workflows via the simplified integration of critical cloud business applications with business-class communications tools, Smart Office removes the barriers of UC adoption that organizations have been dealing with.
“Service providers and enterprise resellers can now create unique UC solutions for their customers to deliver high-value capabilities, including customizing the client to deliver on functionality and appearance requirements…This offer further validates our commitment to the cloud and investment in client technology, and the value of being a complete solution provider,” said Paul Pluschkell, GENBAND EVP of Strategy and Cloud Services and Kandy Co-Founder.
Smart Office UC clients are communication tools that deliver voice, video, IM, presence and collaboration capabilities for a common experience across PC, Mac, iOS and Android or a Web browser.
