Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in Unified Communications this week.

This week had quite a bit of Mitel (News - Alert) news. To start, Mitel announced that it has entered into a partnership with Intelysis, a provider of business technology. The hope is to bring cloud based communications to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Intelisys is also gaining from the partnership because it will now have access to the full suite of Mitel cloud based services in its sales portfolio. Find out what this partnership means for businesses and consumers HERE.

In other Mitel news, TMC’s (News - Alert) Rich Tehrani was at Mitel Analyst Day 2017, where he had the chance to catch up with CEO Rich McBee for an exclusive interview about emergency notification tech. They also discussed several Mitel competitors and changes in UC. You can find McBee’s insights on several UC topics HERE.

Changing gears, Blueface is looking forward to taking its business international thanks to a 10 million euro investment from BDO Development Capital Fund. The company plans to use the money to grow its local office from 50 to 130 employees. From there, it hopes to make an impact on the international scale by expanding locations and growing its reach. Blueface has some big plans for the future, all of which are now possible thanks to BDO Development Capital Fund. Find out more HERE.

Finally, the week rounded out with some great advice on what to consider when vetting a UC solution provider. Donna Wenk, SVP of channel sale at Broadview Networks (News - Alert), dove into the topic, demonstrating how important this vetting process is by saying, “Before partnering with a UC provider, there are important distinctions and variations among service providers that agents need to be aware of.  As a trusted advisor, agents need to assure their clients that their employees will be able to easily use the UC features and that the company’s sensitive data is in the hands of a reputable UC provider.” Everything you need to know is HERE.

That’s all for this week. Come back next week to read all the latest news in the Unified Communications space.
