Happy Saturday! This week in Unified Communications was an exciting one, with articles touching on the Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant study, companies being authorized by FedRAMP, SIP Trunking and so much more. Now that it’s the weekend, let’s take a look back at these last few days.

The week started off with the news that Vonage has been named a Visionary in the 2016 Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications (News - Alert) as a Service, Worldwide. It’s not surprising that they received recognition, given the number of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solutions they have created in order to meet the growing communications needs of businesses of all sizes. They clearly have a vision for the future, making them the perfect addition to the Visionary Quadrant. Find out more about their qualifications HERE.

Speaking of recognition, Collab9 is feeling pretty good right now, as they were just authorized by FedRAMP to operate with federal agencies. They are the first UCaaS provider to receive this authorization, and they’re loving their time in the spotlight. You can hear more about their solutions and the possible obstacles they may face in the future HERE.

Later in the week, TMC’s (News - Alert) Laura Stotler reported on the advantages enterprises can gain through SIP Trunking. She mentions that making the change to something unfamiliar can be scary, but that making the switch will be well worth it in this case. Stotler quotes Fusion throughout the article, and references the research they’ve done on the matter. It turns out that there really are quite a few advantages to SIP Trunking that would greatly benefit any enterprise. You can read all about these returns HERE.

Finally, the week rounded out with the news that Bouygues Telecom has adopted the Mitel (News - Alert) MiCloud UCaaS. With the help of the Mitel UCaaS, the telecom company will now be able to offer their own brand of cloud communications and collaboration tools to enterprise customers throughout France. You can find out more about how Mitel will assist Bouygues Telecom HERE.

While some exciting news has been highlighted here, that’s certainly not all that went on this week. Be sure to head to the Unified Communications homepage for all the updates, and come back next week for the latest insights. Have a great weekend!
