As long as the network infrastructure to support comprehensive cloud services is in place in any given location, service providers can grow their reach to other markets around the world. The launch of the BroadCloud service in Japan by BroadSoft is a great example of this.

This was a natural progression for BroadSoft (News - Alert), a global unified communication as a service (UCaaS) provider, after it purchased a Tokyo-based company called PBXL KK in November 2015. This company delivered innovative cloud-based communication solutions for the Japanese market, and after its acquisition, it has become part of the BroadSoft family, which included a name change to BroadSoft Japan KK.

In addressing the Japanese market, Jim Weisser, General Manager, BroadCloud Japan, said, "The business potential in Japan is very significant, and we are pleased that we have the opportunity to work closely with some of the most innovative service provider customers in the world here."

The Japanese market, just like others around the world is transitioning from PSTN to IP-based voice and mobile services. But it is also one of the most advanced and innovative market places when it comes to mobile telephony, communications in general and technology as a whole, making it ideal for cloud services.

The BroadCloud platform provides a managed end-to-end service that delivers Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions from BroadSoft’s cloud infrastructure. With this infrastructure, Japanese communications companies will be able to offer services without the cost of traditional on premises systems, while lowering the complexity of managing the system and introducing new levels of flexibility, productivity and mobility.

According to BroadSoft, this is going to let service providers launch new products and services by speeding the time-to-market, as well as accelerate time-to-new service revenue when said solutions enter the market place.

BroadCloud will give Japanese service providers support of their operational processes with product management, sales, network assessment, customer self-service and overall operational support. As a turnkey solution it specializes in minimizing the businesses' internal development investment, while maximizing scalability and rapid service delivery.

Cloud technology gives organizations the flexibility they need to navigate today's digital environment without the costly capital expenditure of on premises deployments. And as the infrastructure to support the technology continues to be deployed around the world, BroadSoft will be able to offer its services to more countries just as it is doing in Japan.
