The headlines from this week were filled with quite a bit of this and that, as we saw new partnerships forged, several new solutions, a few improvements to already-existing solutions, and even some milestones. Let’s take a walk down Unified Communications memory lane as we review this week’s biggest news items.

Earlier in the week StarHub, a communications software provider in Singapore, announced a new product offering to national businesses. Called SmartUC, the solution is the parent child of a partnership with Avaya (News - Alert).

“With SmartUC, we bring about a cost-effective value proposition to help Singapore companies to operate more efficiently, while maintaining the fine balance to scale and grow more competitively,” Sebastian Tan, the vice president of enterprise solutions, services, and delivery at StarHub said. “Through this innovative approach, we aim to partner our enterprise customers to deliver outstanding service to their businesses.”

In other news, Avotus (News - Alert), a provider of Intelligent Communications Management (ICM) solutions, announced improvements to its Enhance Usage Report (EUR) platform that will grant communications managers complete access of all UC features. This level of control will provide managers with the ability to know which solutions are functioning effectively, and where to cut out extraneous measures. This is especially important as more and more companies move to mobile. TMC’s Michael Guta has the details of the announcement in the full story.

While on the topic of mobility, a real-time user authentication company, LiveEnsure, is looking to improve mobile privacy and security with FourSure, a peer-to-peer trust app. FourSure gives end users the ability to secure links, files, tweets, posts, and much more, ensures user identities, and provides a host of other features. Learn all about them, here.

In other mobility related news, Citrix Systems (News - Alert), known for its GoToMeeting product, announced a partnership with Kony, the self-proclaimed fastest-growing, cloud-based enterprise mobility solutions company, and it is intended to increase the ever-growing allure of enterprise mobility. As work-from-anywhere and bring-your-own-device initiatives enter the realm of business necessity, mobile applications that can securely streamline enterprise mobile adoption are godsends. Read the full article to get all the details about the new partnership.

Finally, Voss Solutions hit an important milestone this week. The ratio of the Tier-1 carriers it currently counts as clients has exceeded the 80 percent mark, according to company CEO Mike Frayne (News - Alert). Read all about it out, HERE.

As long as there is UC news to report, we’ll be here to cover it on our Unified Communications community channel. So stop by early and often.

And have a lovely weekend.
